Coclé, Panama

Coclé is two hours from Panama City and the easiest nature escape from the capital. El Valle de Antón sits inside the crater of a dormant volcano, with trails like La India Dormida, hot springs, a craft market and waterfalls all around. The Coclé coast — Farallón, Santa Clara — has wide golden-sand beaches. Tripsi's verified spots in the province mix cool mountain trails, swimming holes and crater viewpoints, most with a short walk from town.

When to go

Any time of year works. The dry season keeps the crater trails firm; the rainy season fills the waterfalls. El Valle is always cooler than the coast.

Safety and accessibility

La India Dormida has exposed sections that get slippery in the rain — bring water and shoes with grip. Very calm area overall.
